Ferraro, the Real Monster & the Double Standard

HILLARY IS LOSING BECAUSE OF SEXISM & RACISM

The poor lamb, Mrs. Clinton, has been thoroughly vetted and tested. She has 35 years of experience. She is ready on day 1 to lead our country. And she says she brought peace to Northern Ireland.

However, she is losing to Obama because a large percentage of Americans are racist and sexist. (At least according to Clinton fundraiser and former vice-presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro.)

Ferraro said in a Friday interview, the only reason that Obama is winning, is because he is black.

“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” she continued. “And if he was a woman he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

QUESTIONS:

  • The large amount of women (including Ferraro) who support Hillary Clinton, are they sexist?
  • The white voters in Ohio who polled that race was the most important factor in their votes, and chose Clinton 60% over Obama, are they racist?
  • When Jesse Jackson ran for President in 1984 and 1988, and later Al Sharpton ran for President in 2004, but both failed to garner enough support from whites and blacks alike, did the Presidential Affirmative Action Clause conveniently skip over them?
  • Since Obama is half-white, how does that figure into the equation?

But, we know Hillary Clinton takes pride in her double standards.

Just days ago, Obama’s foreign policy adviser Samantha Power called Hillary a “monster” off the record to a Scottish interviewer. She apologized but the Clinton campaign rallied for her resignation. When the Obama campaign asked the same of Clinton for Ferraro, Clinton refused. She has said however via Howard Wolfson: “We disagree with her.”

    FERRARO’S ROLE IN CLINTON CAMPAIGN

Ferraro is an active Clinton supporter.

“I’m on Hillary’s finance committee. I’ve done a fundraiser for her here at my firm. And I went and worked the phone banks before Super Tuesday. I have to tell you, this is a very emotional campaign for me,” Ferraro said.

Ferraro defended her controversial comments yesterday by saying: “Racism works in two different directions. I really think they’re attacking me because I’m white. How’s that?”

It sounds right in line with the Clinton’s past history of dirty politics. The Clinton’s have been injecting race into this process since the beginning. As they allow a surrogate, like Geraldine Ferraro, to voice her patently racist opinions all while allowing her to stick with their campaign, they benefit from the populations in America who feel the same way. More specifically, white voters in the upcoming Pennsylvania primary.

    • Ferraro has said she is committed to keeping up an active speaking schedule and doing everything she can to help the Clinton campaign.

If her candidate is so weak that she needs to make the case for gender bias coupled with racial bias, the next few weeks of this primary are bound to get uglier and dirtier. The real monster is dirty politics and clearly Clinton will continue to polarize the nation for her own benefit. It’s a short-sighted plan to say the least but we’ve seen the same short-sightedness all throughout her campaign.

Geraldine Ferraro is remembered as Walter Mondale’s running mate in 1984. The campaign lost in a landslide to Ronald Reagan. After two failed attempts to gain a seat in the United States Senate, Ferraro was appointed ambassador to the United Nations Committee on Human Rights during the Clinton administration.

Obama’s chief strategist, David Axelrod, gave a few remarks in a conference call:

“All this is part of an insidious pattern that needs to be addressed,” he said, suggesting that Clinton is “trying to send a signal to her supporters that anything goes.”

Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams, turned the tables and accused Obama of being the one to inject race into the contest labeling his complaint about the Clinton’s refusal to repudiate Ferraro’s remarks - a “false, personal and politically calculated attack.”

Shouldn’t she have been saying that to Ferraro…?

The American Election, Racism and Change.

Please let me begin by saying I am not a racist, I am not an American, White or African. On the subject of CHANGE. I was always led to believe that White Americans are racist against the Black Americans, pardon me, African Americans.
This current USA election has proved otherwise. In my view it’s the other way around.
African Americans have voted overwhelmingly for Senator Barack Obama, I have also noted that White Americans including those from the so-called ‘White States’ have voted in great numbers for Senator Barack Obama, his voters being educated and wealthy. The flipside is casting a stark contrast for Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton, even though her fight is for the middle class and poor of which a great number of African Americans are a part. This election is so interesting to watch. I think the African Americans have so much to be grateful and thankful.

Since President Abraham Lincoln a White American and the 16th President of the United States of America (1861-1865) helped to keep the American Union together during the Civil War and abolished slavery in the United States, White Americans in my view White Americans have come a long way, they have embraced and managed to integrate slaves into citizens with dignity, they gave voting rights to African Americans even before women were allowed to vote. White Americans have integrated Africans in every part of the American Society. Today, African Americans can be found in every sector of American society, from land owners, reporters, talk show hosts, preachers, activists, movie stars, musicians, national sports heroes, CEO’s, mayors, senators, governors, Secretary of State, to every opportunity in the American Society.

The same cannot be said for many, many countries around the globe. Africans around the globe are not a fortunate as Africans in America. African Americans are the most fortunate Africans in the entire world, much, much more fortunate than their brothers in their motherland Africa. I am sure if asked, Africans in Africa wished that they were among the slaves brought to the Americas given today’s status of the African Americans in United States of America. I do not intend by any means to dismiss the struggle of the Africans in America. God bless the good Dr. King, may his soul rest in peace. I would just like to acknowledge and commend the White Americans for their struggle as well. They should not be called or labeled as a racist, instead, the world can learn from the White Americans as an outstanding example in Nation Building. I have the utmost respect and great admiration for these Americans.
Given the same time span of 145 years. United States of America alone, holds the claim that their African slaves have changed and evolved from slavery to running for a Presidential Nominee. This makes USA a shinning example to the world. A Great Nation who has freed their slaves, educated them and lifted them up to the same level as their masters. God Bless America! Truly the land of opportunity with high moral standards and great love for all people.

My hopes for the American People is; that Sen. Hillary Rodham-Clinton becomes the next President of the United States of America and take America to another plateau and epic time in it’s history. She will inherit wars, a rotten economy, devastating natural disasters to clean up and you name it to clean up after the present administration in Washington. Big time CHANGE and house cleaning, who better than a woman to do this kind of through house cleaning. America does need a mother. I hope it will be Mrs. Clinton. God Bless Hillary Clinton and God Bless America!

A Sincere self claim citizen of the world.

To commenter v11111e: A lengthy and INACCURATE comment just to say Hillary should be president because America is ready for a mother???

Not sure you are helping her cause.

You’re right about my sexist comment that ‘America needs a mother’. America needs help. I repeat from my lengthy comment above. It is the African Americans who are racist.
Regarding Geraldine Ferraro’s comment. She said nothing racist. African Americans are so sensitive. White people in America are so afraid to speak out on any subject for fear of being labeled a racist.

April 15, 1988 Washington Post story (byline: Howard Kurtz)- Geraldine A. Ferraro (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday “if Jesse Jackson were not black, he wouldn’t be in the race.” Similar remarks also came from Reagan and Ed Koch. Apparently Ferraro has held these rascist views for quite a while.
      ————————————————–
Obama is in the position he is in because of his qualifications. When this race began, polls showed Clinton with a strong lead in black voter support as well as a commanding lead in overall voter support. She lost many of these voters to Obama (black and white) because they viewed him as being the more qualified person to be president. Also Clinton continued to lose black voters because of the rascist remarks made by her husband Bill along with the negative tone and actions of her campaign.
While Clinton seemed to be overwhelmed and incapable of keeping her campaign from falling into total chaos, Obama showed an ability to plan, organize, lead, and inspire. The two campaigns are in the position they are today because of this.

Clinton has lost this campaign. After Obama won the delegate count in Texas 99 to 94(remember the 67 delegate caucus that Obama won 38 to 29?), gained +8 delegates from the Cal.final count along with his huge wins in Wyoming and Miss., Obama’s lead has grown from +155 before the Ohio primary to +161 - the largest lead he has had to date. His growing leads in pledged delegates, super delegates and in the overall vote count has everything to do with his qualifications and his character- not with the color of his skin. Obama’s support has come from a wide crosection of voters. Some of his most one-sided wins have come in Wyoming, Minn., Colorado, Utah, Wisconsin- states that do not have large populations of black voters. Also contributing to Obama’s lead is the voters’ reactions to Clinton’s desperate, negative tactics.
      —————————————————–
Clinton just gave a very long, open apology to black voters concerning the racial remarks made by Bill Clinton and her staff. It is too little, too late. This contest is over.
      —————————————————–
The race or sex of these two candidates had no bearing on where they are today. However, with so many highly qualified women in today’s Congress - some much more qualified to be president than Hillary Clinton - I do wonder if she would be where she is today if she wasn’t the wife of a former President with lots of pull, wealth and connections? Often times nepotism trumps both race and sex!

Black and white are both racists. In each race there is a group that falls in that Category. I am born from both. With my personal experiences no white or black will convince me that one group is better than the other. I can challenge both colors. BLACKS AND WHITES ARE BOTH RACISTS.Period.
My advice is. Both colors should stop playing victims. Get over it.

I view Obama as An American and not white or black, I view Hillary as an American, and not white or woman. They both have same blood color RED.
the problem is not Hillary or Obama, the problem is some people who can not get over playing victims, in both races.

If you are one of those people who has a rascist disease, wether you are black or white, pack your bags and move to another planet. Stop confusing the future generation with your unprogressive and unproductive sentiments of being black or being an oppressed white.

      Move on. GET OVER IT.
