False Claims Outed for Hillary on Bosnia Trip

Hillary Clinton kind of made up the whole part about being in Bosnia and having the greeting ceremony canceled due to sniper fire.

Today, her campaign says she “misspoke” and the media is nice enough to use the same word. Nevertheless, the Washington Post has awarded her “four Pinocchios“.

  • Of course, it wasn’t too dangerous to bring along daughter Chelsea, comedian Sinbad and singer Sheryl Crow. In fact, Sinbad said, the scariest moment was deciding where to eat.

However, Hillary, when speaking on her foreign policy experience, says this of the perilous trip to Bosnia:

“That’s where we went. I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”

Unfortunately, this video shows otherwise. No sniper fire, the greeting ceremony took place and Hillary even hugged an 8 year old girl who recited a poem. CBS News footage here, but Jed Report video with footage and her “misspeaks” below.

Clinton Misspoke About Bosnia Trip, Campaign Says

Video / Transcript: Jeremiah Wright 9/11 in Context

DO WE HOLD THE MEDIA ACCOUNTABLE?

See how misleading the post-9/11 sound bite of Jeremiah Wright’s 35 minute sermon, really was. It matters greatly as people believe such sermons are what Obama heard on a regular basis.

The media has sold a story of an anti-American message given one week after the tragedy took place in order to tug at the heartstrings and patriotic sensibilities of Americans. Intentional smear? Read the full transcript of 9 minute sermon and see for yourself.

FOX News first aired the soundbites which have been repeatedly re-broadcast by mainstream media.

  • Did you know that Wright starts out the sermon speaking of the “tragedy” of 9/11″ but says that a war killing innocent people as “payback” is wrong as is racism against them? He talks about the “insanity of the cycle of violence and the cycle of hatred”. He says people have:

“moved from a worship of God to the worship of war against those whom God has created… They have moved from the hatred of armed enemies to the hatred of unarmed innocents.”

  • Did you know that the media plays the sound bite as if Wright was unmoved by the tragedy of 9/11 but it’s clearly not true when you see the footage?

Wright mentions that he was stuck 20 minutes outside of New York in Newark, New Jersey on September 11th. He remained there for 4 days since all New York airports were closed, and he was unable to get to Chicago for a funeral.

  • Wright preaches against the killing of unarmed civilians, children and what happens when war occurs. His sermon decries the killing of innocent people anywhere, including what has happened in this country to Native Americans, Japanese Americans and others.
  • Wright says “Violence begets violence. Hatred begets hatred.”
  • Wright goes on to ask in the sermon “What should our response be in light of such an unthinkable act? I asked the Lord that question Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I was stuck in Newark, NJ…” He calls for nonviolence and an end to hatred.

Perhaps now we can see how an excerpt can be grossly misleading. Why are we not shown these longer clips on the news media?

Bill Clinton & Jeremiah Wright

WRIGHT INVITED TO WHITE HOUSE

Hillary Clinton has been rather quiet about the Jeremiah Wright issue even though she is silently trying to take advantage of it in the downturn of public opinion towards Obama.

However, if we maintain (contrary to what UCC’s own white pastor says) that Jeremiah Wright has been giving racist, anti-American messages to his congregation for 20 years… why did the Clinton’s formally invite him to the White House?

Bill Clinton & Jeremiah Wright

Bill Clinton and Jeremiah Wright are photographed among a group of clerics and others at the annual prayer breakfast in September 1998. Sen. Hillary Clinton, then first lady, was also in the room for the prayer breakfast.

Perhaps the media portrayal we have of Wright, is not the one that the Clinton’s knew of. Otherwise, why would they invite a so-called “outspoken racist and anti-American” pastor to their once-a-year prayer breakfast?

With black voters heavily backing Bill Clinton, it would be hard to believe he (or White House personnel) did not know of Wright’s reputation at one of the largest churches in Chicago.

Video: Bill Clinton Endorses Obama?

IN 2004, BILL CLINTON KNEW THE RIGHT CHOICE

Hillary is the self-proclaimed fighter. Obama asserts the audacity of hope. “Words are cheap,” Hillary says, and cheaper still are inspiring speeches. She mocks the idea that the hopeful change Obama speaks of can be possible in time and with effort. She gravely warns us not to choose the wrong leader, lest we end up worse than before. Her newest ad has attracted controversy for using scare tactics, echoing some of the maneuvers she used early on in her campaign.

Increasingly, it seems, Clinton is attempting to battle confidence and hope with cynicism and fear; and in doing so increasingly echoes scare tactics used by the Republicans against all Democrats, including Clinton herself. SOURCE

So, what would Bill Clinton really tell you if he weren’t married to the candidate?

He’d probably say what he said in the video below.

“One of Clinton’s laws of politics is this: If one candidate’s trying to scare ya and the other one’s trying get ya to think, if one candidate’s appealing to your fears and the other one is appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope.” - Bill Clinton, 2004

Clinton’s Angry Tirade Forgets the Facts

A FLIMSY PREMISE FOR A CHALLENGE

“Meet me in Ohio — let’s have a debate about your tactics.”, Hillary Clinton says.

Hillary Clinton lashed out at Barack Obama today for two mailers sent out from his campaign. She calls the allegations in them “false”.

  • One mailer says she supported NAFTA originally. (She did support it, just scroll down below).
  • The other mailer mentions that her health plan will force people to purchase it even when they cannot afford it. (You decide, scroll down).

    HILLARY ON HEALTHCARE:

Senator Clinton blasted Obama’s mailer and said a democrat should not attack another democrat on health care plans. WATCH VIDEO

However, Hillary failed to mention she also sent out mailers in Wisconsin blasting Obama’s health care plans. You can read the mailer HERE. Hypocrisy, much?

Hillary does say her health care is mandated. WATCH VIDEO. Unfortunately she doesn’t think Americans know the definition of mandate.

man·date - noun, verb: to order or require; make mandatory

    Hillary said earlier this year:

Pressed a third time on the wage-garnishing question, Clinton said, “we will have an enforcement mechanism — whether it’s that (wage garnishing) or it’s some other mechanism through the tax system or automatic enrollments.” (more…)

    The Anatomy of Fiscal Responsibility

    HILLARY CLINTON’S CAMPAIGN SPENDING BLUES

Hillary Clinton planned only for a race that would end by February 5th. A lack of contingency planning and fiscal resourcefulness has left her scrambling ever since, to the tune of 11 straight losses to Barack Obama.

    • Did high-priced consultants and lavish hotels seal her doom? At the end of January, the senator had to lend her campaign $5 million and still had $7.6 million in outstanding debts.

    Jan 2008 spending -

    • $100,000 for party platters and groceries before the Iowa caucuses
    • $25,000 for rooms at the Bellagio luxury hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada
    • $217,000 for car rentals at Hertz and Enterprise
    • $5 million for top consultants including:

    - Mark Penn, chief strategist, and team collected $3.8 million in January - total billing: $10 million
    - Howard Wolfson, communications director, earned $267,000 in January - total billing: $730,000

    • $2.3 million to Mandy Grunwald’s firm for advertising (Grunwald is a long-time media adviser to both Bill and Hillary Clinton)
    • $11,000 on pizza…!
    • $275,000 to a firm to attract black voters in South Carolina (she lost to Obama by a large margin)
    • $95,000 for sandwiches to deliver to Iowa caucuses (she lost to both Obama and Edwards)

So far, $106 million has been spent on the failing campaign and the donors aren’t happy:

“We didn’t raise all of this money to keep paying consultants who have pursued basically the wrong strategy for a year now,” said a prominent New York donor. “So much about her campaign needs to change — but it may be too late.”

Political analysts also say that Hillary Clinton’s spending priorities are what crippled her competitiveness.

Barack Obama has spent his own share of mega-funds. The difference? His expenses for consultants are nearly half that of Hillary Clinton’s. He also invested more of his money than Clinton in media, polling and voter outreach which clearly paid off. Clinton spent $23 million on “other” expenses to Obama’s $15 million. Obama also continues to out-raise Clinton in donor contributions.

    • Perhaps there is something to be said for Barack Obama’s stance that “good judgment on day 1″ trumps being “ready on day 1″.

The Great Debate & Clinton’s Borrowed Empathy

HOW TO XEROX LINES FOR SYMPATHY VOTES

The debate finally happened last night and for the most part, it was a civil affair. CNN Videos

The two candidates maintained they have similar goals, with different ways of achieving them — Hillary, the way she’s always done things in Washington; Obama, a new way, with transparency and involving the American people.

    Highlights?

    • Obama confronted Hillary about implying his supporters are delusional. +1 Obama
    • Hillary tried a zinger for her plagiarism attack saying “Change you can Xerox” and got booed by the audience. +1 Obama
    • The two senators forced the healthcare issue with Obama saying that mandates don’t work (for example in Mass), and Hillary saying without mandates there can be no universal healthcare. +1 Obama (Universal mandates or the penalty of garnished wages won’t work. Obama’s plan is mandated for children and aimed at affordability for all others.)
    • Hillary reprimanded McCain on the Iraq war, Obama reminded her that she voted for it. +1 Obama
    • Obama says he will meet with our enemies in the first year without preconditions, Hillary says she will meet, but not in the first year and with preconditions. +1 Hillary (Only for first year new President, other priorities.)
    • Hillary says she is ready on day 1. Obama says he has the right judgement on day 1. +1 Obama

Obama has clearly improved at debating, so Clinton didn’t gain the ground she expected. Jeffrey Toobin, Senior Analyst at CNN said,

“Obama seemed more presidential. He is looking beyond Hillary Clinton at this point, thinking about John McCain, and is just more comfortable.

Hillary Clinton got reflective and said the following in response to a question about her own life, which made her seem soft and compassionate again: +1 Hillary (more…)

Hillary’s White House Experience? Read Her Book

      HILLARY CHANGES HER LIVING HISTORY

Taken from this article, an oldie but goodie.

At the core of her highly disciplined campaign message is her claim that her “experience” in the White House and the Senate makes her uniquely qualified to move right into the Oval Office. According to Hillary, her two term co-presidency with Bill specially prepared her for the next Clinton administration and gives her exceptional credentials that no other candidate can match.

So, what exactly was it that Hillary did in the Clinton White House that gave her all of that experience?

Well, obviously there was the health care fiasco, Hillary’s secretive, expensive and utterly failed attempt to socialize the health care industry. Surely, she can’t be referring to that.

It seems that in her book “Living History,” published in 2003, the former first lady doesn’t really claim to have been an influential co-president working and learning at her husband’s side after all.

      No, that’s all new. (more…)

Former Clinton Campaign Manager Endorses Obama

Bill Clinton’s 92′ campaign manager, David Wilhelm, publicly endorsed Barack Obama for President today on a conference call with reporters. After Wilhelm, who is also a superdelegate, helped Bill Clinton win the election in 1992, Bill Clinton made Wilhelm the chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Wilhelm believes the people who were for Bill Clinton back in the early 90’s, are for Barack Obama today.

He said in the conference call that Barack Obama was more electable than Senator Hillary Clinton. He went on to say that Obama’s campaign is evidence of his leadership, calling it “masterful.”

“He has out-worked, out-organized and out-raised his opponents every step of the way. As a former campaign manager, I know organizational excellence when I see it. And the Obama campaign, win or lose, will serve as a model for future generations to come.” He added, “The Obama campaign has overcome truly daunting organizational odds, not to mention the aura of inevitability and that should provide Democrats with confidence.”

Some other interesting facts about David Wilhelm:

      • He is a devout Christian who’s spoken of his faith widely. In 2006 he launched FaithfulDemocrats.com, a site designed to “provide a Christian-focused, Democratic community online.” This can be an asset in wooing religious Dems in Texas and Ohio.
      • He has strong roots in Ohio (he lives and works there), the next battleground for votes on March 4th.
      • He plans to start calling other superdelegates to support Obama.
